Memories Made, Work Done & Manchester Marathon
A real-life recap of our Easter holidays—juggling work, mum life, and everything in between. Busy, chaotic, and full-on… but filled with lovely moments, a few wins (including some bootcamps!), and a marathon finish (by David!).

I’ve made it through, and I can honestly say I’ve had a fabulous Easter… but wow, I am tired.
It’s been chaotic, emotional, and a full-on juggling act—trying to balance work with having Amy at home. If anyone’s figured out how to answer emails while watching a handstand performance and making snacks on demand, please let me know.
Despite the madness, I really hope Amy has had a wonderful time. She did say she was excited to go back to school, which I’m choosing to take as a sign I didn’t completely overdo (or underdo!) the parenting.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks—we’ve hosted guests, taken part in plenty of Easter activities (both on our own and with friends), visited several parks, and even took advantage of Bradford schools going back early with a trip to Lister Park.
Somewhere in between trying to work, I’ve had my nails painted (by Amy, of course), and we’ve squeezed in farm trips with amazing ice creams, soft plays, swimming, and gymnastics—where she’s even moved up a group! We’ve built dens, made memories, and I’ve heard “Mummy” approximately 67,000 times a day.
I’ve even managed to complete several bootcamps—go me!
We rounded off the holidays with a weekend in Manchester for the Manchester Marathon. David ran it and, as always, was incredible—finishing in 3:12:54. Meanwhile, I consider it a personal achievement that we all made it there with snacks, spare clothes, and minimal stress.

Back to school on Monday, and I joined Amy for her in-class cooking session. I didn’t realise she could have been making my dinners all this time… although I might still need to supervise, as she kept holding the “adult sharp knife” upside down!
I hope everyone with kids made it through the holidays okay—especially those trying to work at the same time. I always worry about Amy getting bored, but it turns out she can entertain herself just fine… as long as I’m there for the constant “watch me, Mummy,” “look, Mummy,” “did you see my handstand?” and “can I paint your nails?”
